Beltane
Today is a crossing point,
A scuff in soft spring soil,
Fields and meadows bloom,
In burgeoning morning dew.
*
Sun rises, lance of the dawn,
Starving winter’s bite, for now,
Pouring over awakened trees,
Dappling shadows from leaves.
*
Beltane makes a junction today,
A moment and dimensions blend,
Allowing the Wyrd to breathe free,
Greeted into life by eager birdsong.
*
Fae wander the world on this day,
Wending among gossamer doors,
Spirit gasps tease cosmic wonders,
Feather breeze tingles the veil.
*
Warmth brings these tendrils alive,
Fickle temperature that brushes skin,
Hints of nature’s scent in fuzzy dark,
Float on the memories of long day.
*
Those that recall light their candles,
Point of light like the pollen of day,
Generate connection, root and stem,
To the ancient creed of our nature.
*
The Sun King and Moon Queen,
Hold their soiree, as Fae look on,
Replete in spring, bread and honey,
The sweetness of the bees is strong.
*
Like sparks and will-o-the-wisps,
Nature and spirit merge on May Day,
As trees new and heavy in bloom,
Proclaim the seasons and souls within.
